چکیده

The authors show that a wide class of Fredholm determinants arising in the representation theory of " big " groups such as the infinite–dimensional unitary group, solve Painlevé equations. Their methods are based on the theory of integrable operators and the theory of Riemann–Hilbert problems.

t− a if a ≤ t ≤ x t− b if x < t ≤ b . In the last decade, many authors (see for example [2] and the references therein) have extended the above result for different classes of functions defined on a compact interval, including: functions of bounded variation, monotonic functions, convex functions, n-time differentiable functions whose derivatives are absolutely continuous or satisfy different c...

Consider a set of continuous maps from the interval [0, 1] to a domain in R. Although the topological boundary of this set in the path space is not smooth in general, by using the theory of functions of bounded variation (BV functions) on the Wiener space and the theory of Dirichlet forms, we can discuss the existence of the surface measure and the Skorokhod representation of the reflecting Orn...

Let X = S ⊕ G, where S is a countable abelian semigroup and G is a countably infinite abelian group such that {2g : g ∈ G} is infinite. Let π : X → G be the projection map defined by π(s, g) = g for all x = (s, g) ∈ X. Let f : X → N0 ∪ {∞} be any map such that the set π ( f(0) ) is a finite subset of G. Then there exists a set B ⊆ X such that r̂B(x) = f(x) for all x ∈ X, where the representation...

Let Γ be a discrete subgroup of PSL(2,R) of infinite covolume with infinite conjugacy classes. Let Ht be the Hilbert space consisting of analytic functions in L(D, (Im z)dzdz) and let, for t > 1, πt denote the corresponding projective unitary representation of PSL(2,R) on this Hilbert space. We denote by At the II∞ factor given by the commutant of πt(Γ) in B(Ht). Let F denote a fundamental doma...
